Unsuccessful attempts to contact Westpac to unblock my account
I am sending this email as I have now given up with trying to contact anyone at Westpac.
When trying to log into my account last Friday 22/11/24, I was notified l that my account had been blocked. I called the 132 032 number, was told that they could not help as I needed to go into a branch and show photo ID. I went to Woy Woy branch on 22/11, showed my drivers licence, was told that they had entered the details but they were unable to unblock my account. I needed to call the fraud department on 1300 364 294. I called this number, sat on a chair at the branch, was asked to leave when the branch closed at 5pm, continued holding for a further 3 hours and 4 minutes and was then told, on the phone, that the fraud department was busy and that someone would call me back. I am still waiting…4 days later.
I tried calling again on Saturday 23rd, Sunday 24th, Monday 25th and today, gave up after holding on for over 2 hours, as it is difficult to hold on for so long when also working full time.
I knew that nobody would call me back so I tried to call Erina Fair Westpac to ask if they were able to help. Nobody even answers the phone. You are asked to leave a message and told that someone would definitely call you back that same day. I have called each day and am still waiting for someone to call me back.
And….if you want to lodge a complaint, you need to log in to your account to do this.
BUT….I am not able to login to my account.
So, please may I ask your help with unblocking my account?

Good afternoon Christine ,I ,like you an extremely frustrated with the lack of not being to contact a ” REAL” person .
I started my journey today,12/03/2025 at 1317 and after holding on to the phone ; text messages then being answered by the “real” person only to be disconnected , I was also informed I had to present to the Branch in person to verify who I am .
I have disability and after explaining this to Amdres ( the real person) — his reply was “well do it on the APP” — Not good enough —- Like you my A/C is now frozen until I pay for a Cab to “present” at the Branch , of which I have been a loyal customer for approximately 18 Years.
I hope you have the issue sorted — Like you I live in hope

How wrong was I — I have just received an Email from Westpac — Informing me that the issue with my Debit Card has been RESOLVED —- I DONT THINK SO — it also came from a “Do Not Reply” email — how convenient — These people have no idea what commercial connections we have — best I show them this DEBACLE — ending The SAGA mark 2 —1607
